On May 8th and 9th, our CEO Lars Lauritzsen and Director of Business Development, Janice Gundersen attended Vizrt Days in Bergen, Norway.
The media event had several great speaker presentations, customer case studies, the latest developments from Vizrt, and panel debates. Media professionals discussed the latest industry trends and developments in the broadcast world.
Janice Gundersen and Allan Giacomelli from CBC presented on the topic of Social TV, discussing how to create a unified social and two screen experience on-air. The audience got an insight into how the never.no framework works with Vizrt graphics systems to enable interactive Social TV experiences, in particular CBC’s successful social campaign for their ‘Power and Politics’ broadcast.

We would like to welcome Prompter, the newest addition to our Social TV product family.
Prompter is the world’s first app designed to give presenters, anchors, hosts, or anyone else who works on camera, the ability to use social media and interactive content on-air.
“Presenters are the heart of live TV, and it’s certainly not an easy job, nor one that easily lends itself to multitasking,” said never.no Director of Marketing, James A. Neufeld. “Prompter was created to give these professionals an incredibly simple way to reach their audience that was previously either challenging or not possible at all.”
Prompter gives on-air talent a way to view real-time social media comments from their viewers and fans, and incorporate that input into their programs. Incoming comments are pushed directly into Prompter on a presenter’s iPad, and because Prompter is powered by the never.no Interactivity Suite, feeds and comments are filtered (automatically or manually) so that only the best content makes it to the presenter. Presenters can also use Prompter to view real-time polls with input from their viewers.
Prompter’s gesture-based navigation and simplistic interface make it easy to use, eliminating the possibility of confusion or added complexity for the on-air presenters.
“If presenters are the heart of live TV, social media is the pulse, and it is incredibly important for broadcasters to be in touch with their audience,” Neufeld continued. “Prompter helps facilities meet that critical need by putting the viewers directly in touch with local hosts and national presenters alike.”
Prompter made it’s debut during the 2012 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Companies Join Forces to Offer Unprecedented Integrated Social TV and Graphics Infrastructure

never.no announces it has signed a preferred partnership agreement with Vizrt, the leading provider of real-time 3D graphics and asset management tools for the broadcast industry. Under the agreement, both companies will promote and support each other’s products, which together give customers a unique, best-in-class solution for interacting with audiences in real-time via Facebook, Twitter, and second-screen apps, and then displaying the results of those interactions.
“Vizrt is the world leader in real-time 3D graphics, and never.no is the world leader in social TV solutions. Together we bring to the market an unmatched end-to-end solution to connect the audience directly to the action on TV,” said never.no CEO Lars Lauritzsen. “To date, our two companies have already pioneered many industry firsts, such as the Tour de France companion app. This partnership is a sign of greater things to come, and of each company’s commitment to providing the best solution for social TV.”
The partnership gives never.no access to a growing network of broadcasters that use Vizrt products, while Vizrt gains a way to provide the best social TV solutions to its graphics customers.
“Both companies have a well-established international footprint, and by being able to integrate each other’s products, we can offer broadcasters an unprecedented social TV and graphics infrastructure,” said Vizrt CTO Petter Ole Jakobsen. “Television producers using the combined system can reach out to their audiences via social media or companion apps triggered by actions originating from within the Vizrt tools. This means complex workflows become streamlined, and fewer operators are required. And simple elements like polls and voting results can now be displayed on live TV with beautiful real-time graphics.”
